Tom earned his B.A. in Music at the University of Northern Iowa where he studied with Tom Barry, Robert Washut, and Matt Wilson. While at the University of Northern Iowa he received an award for Outstanding Performance in Collegiate Jazz Band category from Downbeat magazine. Tom joined Ants Marching in the fall of 2002.
